Tree Planting
We organize community events dedicated to planting native trees, improving local greenery, and enhancing urban biodiversity while collaborating with residents and local organizations.

Educational Workshops
We provide residents with knowledge about native plants, tree care, and environmental stewardship, empowering individuals to contribute to the health of their community’s green spaces.

Community Events
We coordinate fun and engaging community events focused on environmental awareness, involving residents in activities that promote tree planting and the preservation of local habitats.

Partnership Programs
We collaborate with local gardening clubs and neighborhood associations to foster partnerships aimed at enhancing and maintaining green spaces throughout Pensacola.

Volunteer Opportunities
Join our volunteer network to participate in hands-on restoration projects, tree planting days, and community clean-ups, making a tangible difference in our environment.

Grant Applications
We assist local organizations and community members in applying for grants aimed at supporting environmental initiatives, ensuring access to funds for impactful green projects.
Board Members

Tom Patton
Tom Patton has spent the last 46 years developing real estate in the Florida Panhandle. Until 2021 his focus was the Okaloosa and Walton Counties. In the role of developer, consultant or volunteer, he worked with landscaping and tree planting in a number of different projects including Sandestin, Regatta Bay, Grayton Beach State Park, Destin Commons, Emeral Grande/ Harborwalk Village and Redish Lane. Plantings include large installations up to 400 Live Oaks in one phase. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell and service in Vietnam as a Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. Tom has owned property in Pensacola since 2003 and a full time resident since 2020. Tom says one of the main attractions to Pensacola were the beautiful oaks.

Chelsea Mahan
Chelsea earned degrees in art and Spanish from UNC Asheville in 2010, spent two years in Americorps, one as an NCCC team member in the southern region and one as a VISTA in Boulder, Colorado. She earned a master’s degree in bilingual and multicultural education at the University of Colorado in 2015 after travelling to Peru to volunteer at an educational NGO. She currently teaches ceramics at First City Art Center. She was a co-founder of the East Pensacola Heights Neighborhood Association in 2020 where she served as secretary and led numerous projects. She hopes to make Pensacola a more resilient and beautiful place for her two young children to grow up in.

Kelly Hagan
Devoted to our community and ecosystem, Kelly Hagen is a long-time panhandle resident and environmental advocate. Driven by causes close to heart and home, her roles as member of the City of Pensacola’s Environmental Advisory Board, Vice President of the Council of Neighborhood Association Presidents of Pensacola (CNAPP) and Vice President of the Sanders Beach Neighborhood Association have led to expanded protections on Pensacola’s Heritage trees, advanced stifled progress on a neglected superfund site, raised awareness for local causes and inspired involvement by example.
With a penchant for immersive travel and community health, Kelly completed her Bachelor’s in International Studies with a minor in Journalism from UWF while studying abroad in Brazil, and is Certified in both Permaculture Design and Nutritional Therapy. Her affection towards the people of Pensacola and love of the outdoors means there’s also a good chance you’ll find her & her partner biking around downtown with their energetic baby boy, striking up conversation at a local brewery, playing competitive doubles beach volleyball, or balancing on a slackline in Seville Square.

Scott Holland
Scott graduated from Auburn University in 197 and practiced in Mobile until moving to Pensacola, Florida in 1981. He formed Heffernan Holland Architecture in 1983 and the practice was renamed Heffernan Holland Morgan Architecture (HHMA) in 1993. In February of 2020 he left HHMA and entered into private practice as R. Scott Holland Architect, LLC.

Joey Miller
Joey is an avid member of the East Hill Neighborhood Association as the Parks and Rec Chair, Board member of Bands on the Bayou, and several other committees. His passion for making a positive impact is evident in the thriving local parks, vibrant community events, and the growing sense of pride and community that he is every trying to achieve for Pensacola.
